This picture of pure power is great. But what happens to the dogs who break their legs racing, due to poor diet and their owner wants them put down? He could care less about the dog; he had 3 dogs in as many weeks each break a leg.
Our rescue was able to talk him out of two of the dogs - the 3rd was euthanized.
The dogs are fed 4-D meat from Dead, Dying, Diseased and/or Disabled cattle. The raw meat reportedly makes them more aggressive on the track.
The greyhound puppy mills produce thousands of pups a year. The ones who show no potential for racing are killed. Who knows how or how they dispose of the bodies - probably feed the dead ones to their dogs. Nice family business, hun?
The way greyhounds are treated now as opposed to earlier times is so much more humane since back then every track has an adoption agency but alot still do die but i have 2 and people are understanding just how good of pets these dogs can become they are the most fun and laid back well mannered dog on the planet and having a dog that has raced and is fast as all hell is cool to brag about
